Five products, one evening routine, and a next-morning check-in. I wanted to see how these Walmart skincare picks layered together, how comfortable they felt, and what I actually noticed when I removed my overnight mask.
If you love a hydrated, soft finish but want to understand what each step is doing, this is the walkthrough. I’m sharing the order I used, the product that surprised me most, and where the optional extras fit.
My skin felt smoother, softer, and more supple the next morning. That’s a personal observation from one evening-to-morning routine—not proof that my skin barrier was repaired overnight.

The five products, in the order I used them
Evening: Curology cleanser → Naturium serum → Native moisturizer → Medicube wrapping mask.
Morning: Remove the mask, check my skin, then apply La Roche-Posay moisturizer with SPF 30 as my final skincare layer.
The serum and mask are optional extras. Gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and daytime sun protection are the foundation; you don’t need to purchase all five products to keep a routine simple.

1. Curology Gentle Cleanser: starting the evening

I started with Curology’s lightly foaming, fragrance-free cleanser. In the video, you can see the texture, how it lathers on wet skin, and how it rinses away.
After rinsing, my face felt clean, smooth, and soft. I did notice a little tightness, although I didn’t feel irritation during this use. That detail matters: a cleanser can feel different from one person’s skin to another, and I want to share the full experience.
This step washes the day away before the leave-on layers. It doesn’t do the same job as my moisturizer.
2. Naturium Barrier Bounce: the extra hydrating layer

I shook the Naturium Barrier Bounce before applying it. Naturium describes this oil-serum as containing 5% squalane, 2% urea, and a ceramide complex, and recommends following it with moisturizer.
The texture was interesting—slightly tacky and different from a thin, watery serum. I liked the feeling of that extra layer. At 44, I enjoy pairing a hydrating serum with a richer moisturizer, especially as the weather gets cooler.
This is an optional step. If your moisturizer already leaves your skin feeling comfortable, you may prefer fewer layers.
3. Native Gentle Facial Moisturizer: my surprise favorite

The Native Gentle Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin was the product that surprised me most. I used the fragrance-free version with vitamin B3 and aloe.
It felt thick, luxurious, and easy to spread—more like an expensive cream than I expected. Just as useful, it layered beautifully over the Naturium serum during this routine. I didn’t get the little balls of product that can happen when skincare pills.
Texture matters to me because it affects whether I want to reach for a product again. This was a cream I really enjoyed using.
4. Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask: my overnight finish

I had used the Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask before this video. I like the idea of a finishing layer over my evening skincare, and this mask forms a film as it dries.
I applied it after moisturizer and let it dry before bed. In my experience, a very thin application can break apart during wear. The video shows the coverage I used and what the film looked like the next morning. Follow the directions on your own tube, including the areas to avoid.
As it dried, I felt some tightening. Overnight, the film lifted in certain places, but I didn’t find it uncomfortable during this use. That describes my experience; it isn’t a reason to keep wearing a product that feels irritating on your skin.

What I noticed the next morning

I removed the mask before applying my morning skincare so I could check how my skin looked and felt. My skin felt very smooth, moisturized, soft, and supple compared with the previous evening.
I had layered several products, so I can’t give the mask alone credit for the result. I also can’t measure barrier repair by looking at a glossy finish or touching my skin after one night. What I can share is that I enjoyed the hydration and how the routine wore together.
5. La Roche-Posay SPF 30: finishing the morning

My final product was La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer SPF 30. It combines moisturizer with broad-spectrum sunscreen. The brand’s product information lists ceramide-3, niacinamide, and glycerin.
I applied it as my final morning skincare layer. Follow the label for generous, even application before sun exposure and reapplication. Sunscreen works alongside shade and protective clothing; the amount shown briefly on camera should not be treated as a dosing guide.
My favorite sunscreen is one I enjoy enough to use consistently. After this step, my skin felt hydrated and smooth, and I was ready to move on with my morning.
Do you need every step to support your skin barrier?
No. I enjoy the extra serum and mask, but a longer routine isn’t automatically better. The American Academy of Dermatology’s dry-skin guidance emphasizes gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. It recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, plus shade and protective clothing.
If you’re introducing new products, take it slowly and pay attention to how your skin responds. Persistent burning, irritation, or dryness deserves individual advice from a dermatologist rather than simply adding more layers.
My takeaway from this five-product routine
I liked how these products worked together, and Native’s moisturizer was my standout for its rich texture and comfortable layering. The Medicube mask was the extra finishing step I already enjoyed, while morning sunscreen remained the essential daytime step.
For me, this was a useful evening-to-morning test of texture, comfort, and hydration. You can watch the full process above and use the product links to explore the steps that fit your own routine.
