My HairLuma Scalp Microneedling Routine: 4-Month Hair Progress

By Kim Pratt · Personal experience · Hair and scalp care

I have been consistently documenting the thinner areas around my temples, hairline, and crown since April. In this video, I compare footage from April 15 and August 12, 2026, then take you through the HairLuma scalp-microneedling session I performed that day—including my preparation, the treatment itself, and what my scalp looked like the following morning.

This is an honest checkpoint in an ongoing hair journey. I can see changes that look encouraging to me, but I have used several approaches during the same period. These images cannot prove that one product or procedure caused the difference.

Personal experience—not medical instruction

This article documents my own hair and scalp routine. Scalp microneedling can cause pain, redness, bleeding, irritation, infection, pigment changes, scarring, and other complications. Products applied to or injected into compromised skin introduce additional risks. A qualified healthcare professional can evaluate hair loss, scalp health, medications, contraindications, and appropriate treatment options.

My Four-Month Hair Checkpoint

My comparison points were April 15 and August 12, 2026. I paid particular attention to my temples, the sides of my hairline, the center part, and the crown. Looking at the footage side by side, I felt that my hairline looked less sparse and that the new growth around the front appeared healthier and denser.

I also felt that I was shedding less by August. That is a personal observation, not a measured result. I had completed multiple scalp treatments between the two dates, many during weekly Natural Kaos Lives, so this is not a controlled test of HairLuma or any other single step.

How I Prepared My Scalp

I started with freshly washed hair and used a soft silicone scalp scrubber in the shower. I fully blow-dried my hair and did not place leave-in products near my roots. Before microneedling, I used my high-frequency wand with the comb attachment as another part of the broader routine I documented.

While using the wand, I also applied The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to my face and rinsed it within ten minutes. That facial peel was a separate multitasking step—not part of scalp microneedling—and I kept it away from my eyes and hairline.

Why I Chose HairLuma

The HairLuma system shown in my video contained ten 5 mL vials and one 15 mL Exosome Nurturing Solution applicator. The company describes the formula as a professional scalp system containing ingredients including exosomes, PDRN, biotin, panthenol, copper tripeptide, enzymes, peptides, and growth factors. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not proof that the product caused the changes in my photographs.

My Dr. Pen M8S Scalp Session

I used a Dr. Pen M8S with a 12-pin cartridge. For hair-bearing areas, I prefer the visibly spaced 12-pin cartridge because it feels less likely to catch and pull my hair than a denser cartridge. I divided my scalp into five sections and used a stamping motion rather than gliding through the hair.

In my first April session, I tried 1.0 mm and decided it felt too aggressive for me. For this August treatment, I returned to 0.5 mm, where I was more comfortable. These were my personal device choices, not recommended settings or a protocol for another person.

I microneedled one 5 mL HairLuma vial across the five sections and applied the Exosome Nurturing Solution after each area. I then documented a separate, deeper injection portion inside the Natural Kaos App using a second 5 mL vial. The public video does not present that portion as an injection tutorial, and this article does not provide preparation, dosing, or injection instructions.

My Next-Day Recovery

My personal aftercare was simple: I planned not to wash my hair for 48 hours, avoided styling products, and kept my hair loosely up. The following morning, my scalp was still pink along the hairline and treated sections. I did not feel soreness or sensitivity at that checkpoint, but redness and comfort can vary from one person and one session to another.

August 13, 2026: my hairline remained visibly pink the morning after treatment, although I did not report soreness or sensitivity.

I also use the CurrentBody Skin LED Hair Growth Helmet for ten-minute red-light sessions. I consider it one layer in a larger routine, not something I expect to do everything by itself.

What I Can—and Cannot—Conclude

The April-to-August footage is meaningful to me because it gives me a real record instead of relying on memory. I see what looks like more density around my hairline, healthier-looking new growth, and less shedding. At the same time, multiple treatments, normal hair cycles, styling, lighting, camera position, and the passage of time all affect what we see.

  • This is a personal visual diary, not a clinical trial.
  • The comparison does not isolate HairLuma from my other scalp treatments.
  • Visible improvement does not establish safety or effectiveness for another person.
  • Persistent or sudden hair loss deserves evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

What dates did I compare?

I compared scalp and hairline footage from April 15 and August 12, 2026.

What device and cartridge did I use?

I used my Dr. Pen M8S with a 12-pin cartridge during this personal scalp session.

What microneedling depth did I use?

I documented using 0.5 mm in this August session after deciding that the 1.0 mm depth I tried in April felt too aggressive for me. This records my experience; it is not a recommended setting.

How much HairLuma did I use?

I documented microneedling one 5 mL vial across five scalp sections. A separate second 5 mL vial was used during an advanced injection portion shown only inside the Natural Kaos App. This is not dosing guidance.

Does the comparison prove that HairLuma regrew my hair?

No. I saw changes that looked encouraging to me, but I used multiple treatments during the four-month period. A personal comparison cannot isolate the effect of one product or establish cause and effect.
